I mean, whether or not it was or wasn't, I wouldn't have cared so much because there are just times an author's vision is different, you know? But this book really just went on a direction that left me appalled and jaw-slacked. I truly wish I were kidding, but alas, it is with a heavy and sad heart for me to say that this book simply wasn't the book I expected. So, was it unreasonable for me to expect it would end with a bang? Was it unacceptable for me to think it will end in a similar fashion - with hearts a-squeezin', eyes bulging from their sockets, and breaths coming short and fast?ĬAN YOU BLAME ME FOR WANTING TO BURN THE BOOK TO ASHES BECAUSE I WAS SIMPLY SO FUCKING DISAPPOINTED?!

And that cliffhanger? IT KILLED ME. It physically hurt to wait for a year to read what will happen next after Fire with Fire left off. So, this series was a pretty big deal to me. I remember book 2 being so intense that it sent me on a whirlwind of flailing emotions, that I had to pause several times throughout the novel just to catch my breath. I was completely immersed in each of the three girls' plight, and found myself enjoying the story so much, that even after finishing the previous installments, I would come back just to read certain scenes, over and over again like a mad lunatic. Okay, maybe it's not stone-cold, but it's hurt and disappointed and it needs to raaaage.įirst of all, let it be known that I absolutely loved this series. My mind is on fire, and the need to vent is insanely banging the insides of my stone-cold heart. I'll try to keep it as spoiler-free as possible, but I cannot give any guarantee about the cussing.
